Dr. Peter Claussen relocated to Panama City, Florida in 1977, immediately following his residency in Pediatric Dentistry at the world renowned Riley Children’s Hospital in Indianapolis, Indiana. He has received numerous awards from organized dentistry including an appointment as a Fellow of the American Society of Dentistry for Children and has been recognized for outstanding performance by becoming a Fellow of the American College of Dentists. He has lectured extensively on the topics of hospital dentistry, as well as operating room performance. Dr. Claussen founded Gulf Coast Pediatric Dentistry in 1977 and has been a long-standing role model in our dental community ever since. We happily welcomed Dr. Claussen to the Panhandle Pediatric Dentistry family in 2016 as he enters the next phase of his career.
Dr. Claussen and his wife of more than 40 years have 4 sons and 4 grandchildren. Son Craig is a licensed plumbing contractor in Bay County, FL; Son Grant is an electrical engineer; Son Neil is a nuclear physicist for the Navy; Son Eric is an Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeon in Panama City; and Daughter-in-law Dr. Meghann Claussen is a Family Dentist in Panama City. In his free time, Dr. Claussen enjoys being with his family, spending time outdoors, and photography!
